Frequently Asked Questions

How can I enter the competition?
You can find the application form in english following the link "take part" on the homepage. From there click on the left menu on "registration forms" for both built projects and degree-theses divisions.

Is it possible to take part with more than one project?
No, as stated in art.3, each partaker can have just an entry, but if you have any partners in your office, you can split and partecipate in different groups: doing this way, you'll have the possibility to send more projects for the competition.

Is there an entry fee?
The participation to our Prize is free cost. You just have to pay the prints of the package with the postal courier. The submission fee is required for entrants choosing the digital submission. It is not necessary if you decide to send the materials by postal service. The fee (80 / 120€) is necessary to make us possible to cover the processing and printing costs and fix your panels on a rigid A1 lightweight base, as requested from the competition notice.

My thesis fits with the theme of the prize but I didn't study architecture, can I take part at the competition?
Yes, no facuty is excluded from the competition.

The first row of blanks is meant to "name the person taking charge of the participation to the prize / project manager" does this mean that this is the person being credited for the award?
No, the credit will be given to the office as a whole.

What do you mean by "a brief Curriculum Vitae of the group"?
You can wirte both a short biography (description about the office and it's peculiarity) and a list of selected project and awards.

When you say "restoration company", are you referring to the builder or to the architectural firm?
We mean the builder: the company that actually did the works on site.

If the restoration work has been done by more than one company (for example one for the structure and another for the decorations/ historical furniture) which one should be described at point 5b?
You can decide to write a curriculum for both the restoration companies or to choose the one that did the most significant contribution to the work.

Can the restoration company be mentioned with another studio/group taking part at the competition?
Yes, the restoration company can be mentioned in more than one participant's application form.

Will I receive a confirm that my material has arrived?
Yes, after the deadline the staff will check the panels and the files and contact who's missing something for participation.

Are there any indications about the Word texts (format, inserted photos,…)?
No, there are no particular restriction about that, exept that they should be in A4.

Does the technical-descriptive report have to be written in the panels?
No it doesn't. It must be included in the documentation you send in soft or hard copy.

Does the deadline refer to the postmark?
Yes, the deadline refers to the postmark and not to the date we receive the documents.

I'll send the documents by post, should I pay the contribution fee?
No, in this case the participation is free.

How can I send you the documents?
You can send us the files by e-mail at this address: premiorestauro@unife.it. It's useful for us if you write the name of your studio as the object of the email. We suggest you to use the server online We Transfer, that never gave us problems with the download.

If I send you the files by email do you need the dvd, too?
No we don't.

How can I pay the contribution fee?
To access the form for the payment you should follow the link highlited in red at the bottom of the application form. This is a page of the Consorzio Ferrara Ricerche where you'll find all the information about bank transfer or pay by credit card. I didn't receive the confirm of the payment.

Should I fill the form again?
No, it's not necessary.

Should I send you an email with the scan of the bank transfer?
No, it's not necessary: we receive a report by the Consorzio Ferrara Ricerche
